CINCO DU MAYO - Lots of cool stuff happened on Mother's Day eve at the Cinco races.
First let's mention the double dippers. Lisa Lendway (photo L with daughters Hadley and the other one) and Shelley Ostrander became the first women to have won both the long and the short course duathlons. Lisa won the long course du this year and the sprint du, in record time, no less, last year. Ostrander, who won this year's sprint, won the longer race in 2014.
For Lisa, it was her 9th career multisport win. For Shelley, it was her 4th.
Ostrander's Winner's Circle companion on Saturday was two-time Junior of the Year nominee Mitchell Clayton, whose mom hates it when people call him Mitch. Mitchell is cool with either. Clayton, 19, has raced twice already this season and had won both times. Last week he was victorious at the Morris Tinman. FYI, he placed 3rd here in 2015. ...

Chain of Lakes Triathlon - Sauk Rapids' fifty-genarian Amy Woolsey has always raced well at COLT. Yesterday, at the 14th edition of that Alex-based tri, she turned in her fastest time--1:11:01--and her best placing--1st overall woman--ever. The statuesque math teacher outdistanced her nearest challenger, Pauline McJilton, 48, who like Woolsey, has done her best racing during the last 3-4 season, by 2:38. Rounding out the women's podium was 54-year-old Mary Deeg, who like Woolsey, is statuesque, and like Woolsey and McJilton, is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.
For Amy, it was her first tri win and 2nd multi victory of her career, which began at the inaugural edition of COLT in 2002.
Also rocking socks in the women's competition was 63-year-old Sheri Schrock, who placed 4th overall. It was her 2nd divisional win in as many starts this year. Last week at Falls Du, she lowered her own 60-64W CR by more than three minutes. Shrock was runner-up for Minnesota Grand Master of the Year in 2015....

Hey Everyone - Great racing happened in Alexandria--CHAIN OF LAKES TRI--and Square Lake--CINCO DU MAYO--this morning. Colt coverage with photos and results will post tomorrow. Cinco verbage and images will post on Monday.
ED. - We just learned that Diane Hankee was the 6th amateur / 2nd 35-39 woman at today's St. George 70.3.

These areas of the body are broken up into compartments by fascia and each compartment contains, muscles, nerves, and arteries. In July, Jordan Hasay plans to head to Eugene, Oregon, for the 2016 Olympic Trials. It should be a sweet moment for the 24-year-old distance runner who, just last summer, was forced to withdraw from the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships because of a case of plantar fasciitis, making her ineligible to compete at the IAAF World Championships.
