CHISAGO LAKES SPRINT - In her blog Heather Lendway stated that her course record performance at Life Time Tri - Minneapolis was her best Olympic-distance effort ever.
What was her best sprint race ever?
It HAD to have been her dominating performance at Chisago Sprint on Sunday. There she led out of the water and was second into T2 behind pro male Dan Hedgecock, who would go on to record his 27th career win. And though Hedgecock broke Devon Palmer's men's course record, he could only managed to finish 3:25 ahead of Lendway, who was never overtaken by male triathletes during the final phase, a 5K run....

28th BREWHOUSE TRIATHLON - Brian Bich (photo) could, as they say, "Make History" on Saturday. A win at the Brewhouse (Olympic) Triathlon would be his 12th at that annual classic, and it would snap his tie with Tony Schiller for the most wins in a single triathlon. (Tony has 11-wins at the Lake Waconia Triathlon.
A state record is on the line.
Can he do it? He's 48 now and has scaled back his racing in order to increase his participation in the lives of his two teen sons. Additionally, he'll be facing a resurgent Josh Blankenheim at BH. Josh beat Brian by 43 seconds at Heart of the Lakes.
In Bich's defense, HOLT was his first racing effort of the year. For Blank, it was his fourth....

CHISAGO LAKES SPRINT - Dan Hedgecock and Heather Lendway rocked course records this morning. HL finished 2nd overall in 1:17:15, which broke pro Lauren Goss' 2012 CR by 1:45 and the amateur course best by 6:23. RESULTS
CHISAGO LAKES HALF IM - DKT won for the 6th time (in six starts) and Tim Hola of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, lowered Jon Balabuck's 2006 amateur course record.
Iowa pro Tami Ritchie won the women's half in 4:33:39. The overall women's amateur title went to Kortney Haag, who set a PR with her 4:34:23. Lots of personal bests, like Sean Cooley's 4:09:04 - 4th place overall (photo L), and divistional records were set on this coolish, windy day. Photos and more words on Tuesday. RESULTS
WASECA 1/3 - Cathy Yndestad became the first woman to break the 3-hour mark (2:56:16 - 4th overall!) at this unique event. Travis Miller won for the dudes (2:51:38). RESULTS

5th Annual CHASE THE POLICE TRIATHLON - Cheryl Zitur repeated as women's champ, doing so in course record time. She has won two of the four tris she's raced in this season. The men's winner was Brian Sames, the 2013 Most Improved recipient. It was Brian's milestone 10th career victory. Zitur (45-49W), Racquel Wohlik (19U), Linda Schievelbein (50-54W - lovely photo L) and Neil King (60-64M) set divisional records. RESULTS
2nd Annual SHELL LAKE TRIATHLON - One hundred and thirty-five participants finished this year's race, which was won by Wisconsinites Chris Stevens (New Richmond) and Christa Wille (Madison). RESULTS
