HARVEST DUATHLON II - Records fell, and fell hard; skinning their metaphoric kneecaps and bleeding with profusiosity. Okay, that was a little much....

St. Croix Valley Triathlons XII featured great racing under perfect conditions, in addition to the event's signature post-race "pig out."
In the Sprint, Matt Payne racked up his 19th career win, becoming only the second athlete, with Becky Youngberg, to have won at both distances in this annual classic. And Payne's time was wicked fast. He shared the Top Step with a fatigued Veronica Bond, who raced at Ironman Canada six days earlier....

HAMSTRINGS ARE LIKE CHILDREN. Sometimes they get crabby; and sometimes they don't do what they're supposed to do, or what you want them to do.
Because they are part of your body, we don't recommend that you actually physically punish your disobedient hammies when they act up, unless of course, you are a total masochist. We think you should do what what elite triathletes David Thompson, Kortney Haag and Heidi Keller-Miler do.
Ground them!
Like telling his imagined 13-year-old son that he can't play "Call of Duty" on his X-Box for a whole week, DKT grounded a bitchy hammie two weekends ago, depriving it and himself the opportunity to race at the Rev 3-...

ST. CROIX VALLEY TRIATHLONS - Twelve years ago, Final Stretch, a longtime producer of running events, staged it's first triathlon in Hudson, Wisconsin. The St. Croix Valley Sprint.
Though the event was an instant success, FS waited until 2008 to produce another multisport event. That year, they acquired the popular Liberty Tri and inaugurated the Falls Duathlon. Today they stage eight multis, more than any other Minnesota event management company. Their contribution to the multisport lifestyle in our region has been humongoid....

Outland Challenge Triathlon - Have you ever heard of the Outland Challenge?
Neither had we, but triathlete / Physical Therapist Extraordinaire Cindy Schalfmann, who has a 17-year-old son who plays and referees soccer and just got his first car and has a girlfriend, insists that such a race exists, claiming that it isn't far from her ancestral hometown of Canby, Minnesota, which she claims is close to the South Dakota border. Supposedly, the race is on the SD side of said border.
We like Cindy a lot, thus we assume that she isn't lying.
Here's her race report:
It was a small race of just under 100 participants I believe including those on teams but last year I think there were only around 50 individual triathletes.....
