Minnesota Multisport Awards - What the heck were they thinkin'? How could they have chosen so-and-so over you-know-who?
Prior to Saturday's MMA Presentation, blogger extraordinaire Steve Stenzel posted his picks (LINK), i.e. the athletes he believed, based on his own astute observations and thoughtful consideration, should take home the awards.
Six of his choices matched the Committee's ultimate picks. Six did not.
Because of his fresh and differing perspectives, Steve (cool portrait below) has since been officially invited to become a member of the 2011 MMA Selection Committee...

2010 MMAs - Patrick Parish took home three 2010 Minnesota Multisport Awards on Saturday. He was named Triathlete of the Year and Most Improved, as well as winning the Performance of the Year prize. Parish won ten races last season and is currently being considered for USAT Athlete of the Year Honorable Mention....

In high school, classmates used to tease Barbara Pierce and George Washington because they looked so darn much alike. (George was a senior when Barb was a freshman.) Interestingly, Ms.Pierce and Mr. Washington dated briefly and were careful not to wear similar-looking clothes. Barbara ultimately dumped George for another George: George Bush, a junior and star of the baseball team.
And speaking of cool lookalikes, it has never been proven definitively that Ringo Starr and Yasir Arafat are not the same person...

MTN has just learned that less than 20 tickets remain for this Saturday's gala Tri Night 2010 celebration presented by OptumHealth. You can still get a ticket, but you have to act quickly.
