Missing Bill...

When the starter's gun goes off at the MinneMan triathlon this weekend,..
it will mark the first edition of this race without Bill Copenhagen serving as
the race director. Bill decided last year to step aside following the birth
of his first child. Since Bill first started organizing the MinneMan, it
has been selected as the Triathlete's Choice Race of the Year on numerous
occasions. Because Bill is one of the nicest guys in the world, MTN
thought we would catch up with him prior to this weekend's race.
Darin: How did MinneMan come about?
Bill: I started my triathlon career in Houston, Texas and the club there
(Houston Racing) was a very large and successful club. They put on their
own triathlon that served three purposes for them: fundraising, charity,
and club exposure. I wanted to do the same thing for the Minnesota
Triathlon Club. I started the search for a venue in the summer of 2004
