Coaches Cindi Bannink (USA Triathlon 2011 Coach of Year) and Kris Swarthout (Four Time Team USA Triathlon Coach) have teamed up with Club Med Academies to deliver what is billed as ‘one of the most comprehensive triathlon camps you will ever attend.’
The Club Med Academy camp takes place in Sandpiper Bay, Florida, on 12-15 November 2015.
“I’m excited to be partnering with Club Med Academies and Kris Swarthout in this fall triathlon camp,” said coach Cindi Bannink.
“This camp will be a key learning opportunity for anyone wishing to take their training and racing to the next level. The timing of this camp is ideal as athletes will have all winter to refine and improve their skills and training before launching into the 2016 season.”...
In 2011, Cindi was awarded USA Triathlon’s National Coach of the Year title for her work developing an Olympic qualifier, her commitment to her adult age group athletes and the development of a successful junior program in Madison, Wisconsin. She works with all levels of athlete, from first timers to seasoned veterans, and from amateurs to elites. Cindi’s coaching philosophy includes working with the whole athlete, helping them reach their endurance goals while still maintaining balance in their personal and professional lives.
“I have run a number of camps around the globe and in my opinion the facilities and amenities at Club Med are top notch,” added Kris Swarthout. “They have everything a triathlete and their family could ever need all in one place.”
Kris has been a competitive presence in triathlons since 2001. First as an athlete and now as a coach, Kris is currently the Midwest Regional Chairperson for USA Triathlon and is the head coach of the Minnesota Junior Elite Team. Since 2010 he has served as the Official Age Group Coach for Team USA by USA Triathlon and accompanied Team USA to the ITU World Championships around the globe.
Kris has coached athletes ranging from professional to first time amateurs. He strives to help people achieve the ultimate balance of family and sport in their lives.
The training camp will take place at the all-inclusive Club Med Sandpiper Bay Resort. Amenities include a premier fitness centre, spa, six-lane outdoor lap pool, secluded open water swim course, cycling routes around Port St-Lucie and a turf soccer field for functional workouts.
“Club Med Academies is a rich international, multi-cultural experience in the world of sports,” shared Greg Breunich, Managing Director of Club Med Academies.
He continued, “Athletes from some 50 nations train and study here in preparation for international competition. Club Med Sandpiper Bay’s amazing venue, wonderful French living culture and world-level training create a contagious energy that has become a main attraction for the active enthusiast. We at Club Med are super excited to welcome Cindi and Kris to Club Med Sandpiper Bay.”
