2017 MINNESOTA MULTISPORT AWARDS - Here, in alpha order, are the five officlal nominees for Minnesota DUATHLETE OF THE YEAR:

- WADE CRUSER, 30, Sauk Rapids 

Wade's 2017 resume featured two wins--Cinco Du Mayo and Apple--one CR (Cinco) and a 3rd place overall at Duathlon Nationals.

- DIANE HANKEE, 40, Lino Lakes

Diane beat a stellar  field at Gear West, then placed 3rd behind Vsetecka and Grinaker at Apple.

- BRIAN SAMES, 31, Shakopee

Brian won the Oakdale Duathlon and placed 2nd behind Cruser at Cinco Du Mayo Long Course....

- KRIS SPOTH, 30, St. Paul

Kris's du debut produced a 2nd at Oakdale. He followed that with a 2nd (amateur) against a stellar field at Apple.

- DANI VSETECKA, 33, Rochester

Dani won both of the dus she did in 2017--Falls and Apple.

Others receiving consideration were NICOLE HEININGER, JORDAN  ROBY, JENN SCUDIERO, TORI NUGENT and KATHERINE LENGLET.

Winners will be announced at the Minnesota Multisport Awards Party at Gear West Bike & Triathlon on November. The event includes food and drink, Emma Bingo and speicial guest speaker RUTH BRENNAN MORREY.
