ED. We just learned that, for catering purposes, MMA Party attendees will have to either get their tickets by noon on Wednesday, or contact Gear West Bike & Triathlon (952-473-0093) before that time to let them know that you plan to attend.
Minnesota Multisport Awards - For the third consecutive year, Minnesota Multisport Party attendees will have the opportunity to win some cash. They can play "Emma Bingo" wherein they guess the MMA winners. The player with the most correct answers will take home a wad of sweaty bills, approximately 100 of them. The game is totally fun.
When you arrive at the party on October 25, which will once again be held at Gear West Bike & Triathlon in Long Lake, you will be given a multisple choice questionnaire about the MMA nominees. You select the candidates that you think will win. During the presentation of awards, you will learn how good of a guesser you really are.
To get a jump on the game, here are the nominees in all of the categories.

Ah yes, fall leaves swirling around outside on this picture perfect, Indian Summer day.
For the most part, my 2014 race season is over, save for a couple of potential short running races I may do including Monster Dash 10 miler, Drumstick 10k and Polar Dash....
Except for a nagging hip and psoas issue, it's been a pretty good year filled with lots of fun races and events.
The capstone was, of course, Ironman Wisconsin. Finished with a big smile on my face and with time on the clock to spare, while reaching my overarching goal of enjoying the day and taking it all in. More on that day in a bit.
Before I get there, just a few other thoughts, comments and pics from my 2014 season:
Switching coaches: After my former coach, Greg Rhodes, moved to Colorado last May, I started to work with Cathy Yndestad. I can not say enough about working with her. She knew just how to push me enough but not too much to cause bigger...

CY GOES SONORAN -
Unlike most Minnesota multisporters, CATHY YNDESTAD's tri season is not over. IN fact, she has two more races to do, the first of which is the Life Time - Soma Half IM on Sunday in Tempe, Arizona, the second at Ironman Arizona on November 16.
The winningest woman in Minnesota multisport history, CY won the Soma race last year and if she repeats as champion this time around, she will not only have collected her 71st career tri/du win, the discussion as to whether her name should be added to the list of 2014 Long Distance Athlete of the Year will be reopened. With her wins at Leadman Epic - 125 last spring and her overall victory at HITS-Waconia two months ago, she had already garnered support from some of the MMA Committee members. A win, or a very fast time, i.e. breaking 4:40, on Sunday would probably secure for her an official nomination.
On Sunday afternoon, MTN will post coverage of her performance....

Now that the season is over it’s time to step back and reflect on the year. What did I accomplish? Did I reach my goals? What did I learn? What went well for me and what didn’t? What do I need to improve on for next year?
What did I accomplish?
In a 19-week season, I raced 13 times. I won all 12 of my non-drafting races and I placed second in the one draft legal race I competed in. I won the USAT Olympic Distance National Championship for the second year in a row in the fastest time in championship history, breaking my previous record. A few weeks later I won the Olympic Distance World Championships overall. I set nine course records, breaking them by close to four minutes, on average. I was the fastest female swimmer at every race except Nationals. I ran sub 6:30 pace for every sprint race, I broke 6:00 pace on a sprint 5K and was finally sub 40 (sub 6:30) for a 10K.
Did I reach my goals? ....
