Minnesota Multisport Awards - The nominees for Most Improved Multisportsman and Multisportswoman will be announced in the coming week. To be considered, an athlete who was not on Team Minnesota * in the past must demonstrate that they either deserve to be on Team Minnesota this year, or are at least flirting with doing so.
Also, athletes who significantly improves their position on Team Minnesota can receive nominations for this award.
Duluth's Josh Blankenheim (photo L) enjoyed tremendous success this year and is receiving serious consideration for a MI nomination. Let's look at his history and see if YOU believe he should receive a nomination....

I had the opportunity to read the book "You Are an Ironman", by Jacques Steinberg, while still on a high after recently completing my first Ironman 70.3 triathlon. The novel interested me because my normal reaction when I am asked if I would consider doing an Ironman is "Are you crazy?!", knowing how much time it takes an average person, like me, to train for a half distance race and watching so many friends who have trained for and completed full Ironman races.
The book chronicles six people who, for various reasons, decide to sign up for the 2009 Ironman Arizona, which a few of my friends also did. As we travel through the various minds and thought processes rationalizing each individual's decision to make the ultimate...

Minnesota Multisport Awards - The Minnesota Grand Master of the Year category (60+ men; 55+ women) was very contentious this year. Not until the final voter submitted his/her recommended candidates was the Committee able to determine the official nominees....

Minnesota Multisport Awards - The official boys Junior of the Year nominees were posted on Sunday. Today we introduce you to four girls who have incredibly bright multisport futures.
Here are the girls who received official nominations for 2011 Minnesota Junior of the Year: This is the first MMA nomination for each of these gifted young athletes.
