We tend to over-complicate New Year's resolutions and instead need to "show up, open up, and see what happens from there."
What is it about resolutions that makes me feel like I messed up my entire prior year—and perhaps my entire life?
Everyone and their brother (myself included) preaches about not making resolutions for a long time. “It’s a lifestyle!” Fill in the blank whatever “it” is. Make the last 90 days of the year great! Forget resolutions.
And I agree, wholeheartedly. ....

ED. Kristina Swenson is a remarkable young woman. She's smart, caring and a terrific athlete (former Minnesota Junior of te Year, Most Improved nominee etc.)
She's also a talented writer. On Facebook, she prefaced the blog post--a letter to her 2018 self--you are about to read with these words: I haven't written for a very long while, but I finally felt it was time. 2018 was a big year for me. There were a lot of really tough times and a lot of really good times. Heading into 2019, I'm stronger, I'm healthier, and I'm happier. Thank you to everyone who has been part of my 2018...
Dear 2018 Me,
If in 2017 you could have seen who you would become in 2018, you wouldn't believe it. This year was really hard for you in so many ways. There were a lot of tears. There were bad races. There were tough decisions. But it was also SO SO good. There were great memories. There were smart choices. There was a lot of wisdom gained. I am so proud of the woman you've become. You're stronger. You're healthier. You're happier. And you have a whole lot more love to give. So looking back, what do I want you to remember about this year? ....
