LIFE TIME TRI-SOMA HALF - Cathy Yndestad turned in the fastest 70.3 time of the year by an amateur Minnesota woman last Sunday en route to a 14-minute victory at the Life Time Tri-Soma Half in Tempe, Arizona. Her time was 4:36:47 and the win was her 5th of the season and #64 of her decorated career. Conditions were favorable (80-degrees, light wind and very low humidity) and her splits throughout were impressive (29:19-2:30:24-1:35:09).
2013 has been one of the most successful years ever for long distance racing by Minnesota women. Diane Hankee, Emily Kratz and Michelle Andres have already received official LDPOY (Long Distance Athlete of the Year) nominations and the MMA Selectors ....
will be taking another look at the LD resumes of Yndestad and Kortney Haag to determine whether either of those talented women will be added to the list of nominees. CY’s other LD efforts include podium efforts at Leadman Epic-125 at Tempe and at Bend, Oregon. Kort’s resume features a win at Pigman Half (4:38:16), a 2nd (amateur) at Ironman Wisconsin (10:47) and a 3rd at Chisago 71 (4:47:07).
LOVE IS A BEAUTIFUL THING – MTN recently received this cool note from Wally Milbrath, who is one of the founders of western Wisconsin’s Wild River Tri Club:
Hi MTN Guys,
Due to recent developments in our club, we are considering changing the name from Wild River Tri Club to TriMingle.org.
See attached photo: Megan Westhoff & Jim Felling.
Engaged in the Rocky mountains earlier in the summer; ran IM Lake Placid together in July; perfect fall Wisconsin wedding Oct. 12th, 2013!!

As many of you know, Megan and Jim are two of the most successful triathletes residing on the wrong side of the St. Croix River. The MTN Guys wish them a long and happy life together.
