CENTRAL LAKES CYCLE DUATHLON - JASON TOTH has three victories in four starts this season, the most recent of which was last Saturday at the CLC 24/7 in Fergus Falls, a great small city that is also known as "Otter Town, Minnesota" because it has a humongous statue of "Otto the Otter," in one of its parks....
Toth, who we think is a military guy from Rhinebeck, New York, placed 10th at Superior Man last month in a time that was only 22 seconds off the PR (4:26:13) he set at Eagleman 70.3 in 2013. He then followed that performance with wins at Square Lake, One Last Tri, and now CLCD. His time on Saturday over the bike-heavy (20 mile bike - 4 mile run - 7 mile bike) route was impressive, a 1:35:37, which lowered DAVID JENSEN's course record by 2:10.
The women's CLCD winner was JENNIFER OLSON from Rice. According to her FB page, Jennifer is fond of Chick-fil-A and is a devotee of Sara Orjansen's blog.
This year's du had 46 finishers. RESULTS
AUGUSTA 70.3 - Sidelined with injuries for much of the season, Rochester's RUTH BRENNAN MORREY triumphant return to racing yesterday produced a near-podium performance. Well back after the swim, RBM rode and ran herself in banshee-esque fashion to a 4th place finish and a nice chunk of the $30,000 prize purse.
Her time was 4:23:08. RESULTS
