Only MICHELLE ANDRES of East Gull Lake has a faster 140.6 PR (9:50:23 - Kona '13).

MTN applauds and congratulates all the rockstar Minnesotans who raced last weekend at Kona and Louisville, as well as the Twin Cities Marathon and 10-Miler.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR UPDATE - It was learned recently that, prior to this year, MICHAEL WEISSENBORN (photo R with his best friend) had only raced in two outdoor multisport events. This makes him eligible for a 2016 Rookie of the Year nomination. His resume, which features amateur wins at Heart of the Lakes Sprint, Maple Grove Sprint and HITS-Sprint, plus a 3rd at Minneapolis Sprint, was submitted to the MMA Committee yesterday.

TC 10-MILE - The MTN Guys got this email from MATT McCOY on Sunday evening:

Hey MTN,

I snapped this photo as Gwen Jorgensen raced the Twin Cities 10 Mile this morning. It was a deep field of ladies from all over as the 10 Mile was the US National Championship this year. This was Gwen's longest ever running race but she still made the overall podium. She has another Tri coming up in the Bahamas and then is going for the NYC Marathon in November. So much for taking your foot off the gas after winning an Olympic gold medal. It was cool to see her back in MN at least for a little bit.

Take care, Matt

ED. Gwen placed 3rd. Her time was 53:13! Matt's photo of Gwen's finish was very dark thanks to heavy shadows and required more photoshop skill than this guy possesses, so we replaced it here with a post-race shot of Jorgensen and McCoy that Matt also provided.

RACE OF THE YEAR - Don't forget that "Triathletes Choice Race of the Year" voting ends at 11:59 PM on Sunday, October 16. If you haven't voted yet, link HERE.
