The University of Minnesota hosted the 15th annual Tri-U-Mah was hosted on Sunday, February 10th, 2019 at the U’s Recreation and Wellness Center. Preceded by the age-group competition on Saturday, the sprint collegiate race was an 800 yard swim, 10 mile bike, 3 mile run....
With a home field advantage, 15 Gopher athletes raced with other Midwest Collegiate Triathlon Conference (MWCTC) athletes to bring the heat!! First-year graduate student Rachel Zilinskas dominated the women’s field with an overall time of 54:09. Melanie Mahoney finished 2nd with an overall time of 1:00:43. On the men’s side, Nik Pardoe and Zach Dahlseng finished in 55:08 and 55:13, respectively, to lead the Gophers.
In other fun news, three Gopher triathletes made their race debuts and Bailey Biwer had the fastest swim of the day.
