Tri Clear Lake Olympic race report: I want to first say this. Thank you @triclearlake for putting on such a great race! From all the volunteers to the beautiful course it was all fantastic! Also it was a pleasure to be able to compete in a race with retired pro @tollakson6 when I first got into triathlon I’d watch his YouTube and and study up on how I could make it possible to go pro! So if you haven’t check out @dimondbikes they are LEGIT!
Next I will say this. I am proud of our athletes who competed this weekend! @dripmultisports is just getting started and I am so excited for what is to come for our team! (Big announcements coming soon!).
Now for me: I will say this, yesterday was the best I have EVER raced which is exciting because I know I still have lots of room for improvement!...
The swim: Not happy with it plain and simple. Yes it was extremely windy and the cross waves didn’t help but… my execution needed to be better. I was not sighting well at all, I definitely added a lot more distance than I needed. I’ll take this with a grain of salt tho! Next race will be much better I promise that!
The bike: It was fine. I still am trying to understand how to race on my bike and push myself more. 24.5 mph average is fine but I wasn’t pushing hard enough. I know I’m capable of more and my training speaks for that. But it’s the fastest I’ve ever biked in a race so that’s a positive.
THE RUN!!: I was in 5th coming off the bike and I knew I needed to work to make podium and I did! This is the best triathlon run I have ever had and I am so happy with it. I put together the fastest run split out of anyone in the race! 5:35 per mile for 10k. I was able to make up 2 places and finish 3rd!
Mixed emotions but I’m ready to keep working! The pursuit to becoming pro is in full swing and I’m lucky to have a brand and a coach @tattooboy1981 to help me get there!
