Sad News. And Semi-Sad News...

WE'RE BUMMED - We pulled this sad news about the sixteen-year-old St. Croix Valley Triathlon from the Finalstretch.com website:

We are sad to report that the St. Croix Valley Triathlon has been cancelled for 2017. This event has been a hallmark of the Final stretch events but the city of Hudson has decided that it causes too much congestion on 1st Street and crossing 2nd Street at St. Croix Street. Sorry that this race is not to be held in 2017 but the city council voted on this without my notification or input.

IT COULD BE WORSE - Last weekend we emailed Randy Fulton: Hey Uncle Randy - I'm working on next year's race calendar. Is there going to a St. Paul Tri in 2017. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. - Big Jer

Immediately, he responded:

Happy Thanksgiving back at ya! Next year Phalen Park is going to be all torn up because of some sewer project so we are going to take a year off. I tried to work around it but it is just too big a project. Hopefully Wheelock Parkway will be completed by 2018.
