Race Preview - There are lotsa of groovy reasons to race, starting with the existential benefits. To quote the famous triathlete philosopher, Michellie Descartes, "I race, therefore I am." If you're a triathlete, you know whereof she speaks.
And there are the social benefits. What better way to enjoy a weekend than to go to a pastoral lake and hang out with hundreds of like-minded individuals in excessively tight, and occasionally skimpy, clothing?...
Lest we forget, elevated health and well-being are good things that justify training and racing. Low pulse and BP, a lean musculature creating a body that begs to be shaved all over, improved sleep and other bedroom stuff, unless of course your bike pants are too tight or you train tooooo much, in which case your libido may take a vacation.
Does existential stuff, social stuff and health and well-being stuff cover all the good reasons to racie?
