A Note From CY & Results Links...

cy-and-patti.gifED. We heard from Cathy Yndestad recently. She filled us in on what she's doing this winter and some of her tentative plans--racing and coaching--for the 2014 multi season. Photo - CY and her "Norsk mann," KY.

Hi MTN Guys,

How are you? Hope you're making the best of this frigid winter.  I made the mistake of staying here in MN to ski, but it's been too cold (for me) to enjoy that. I'll ski the 50K Birkie next weekend in Hayward, then I'm off to the sunny southwest where I'll be coaching a few different cycle/triathlon camps with Troy Jacobson and the Life Time Endurance Team thoughout the month of March. I'll most likely enter the Leadman Marquee race in Tempe at the beginning of April. I haven't registered for any races aside from Ironman Arizona in November, but I'll likely do my favorites - Tri Nona, Mpls Tri,  then who knows. I'd love to race... AG Nationals in Milwaukee, but that falls the same weekend as the Leadville 100MTB which has become a big family/friend tradition for us.  I'll be coaching at Ironman Wisconsin since I have my largest contingent of athletes toeing the line in Madison that weekend. Can't wait!!    Then my real training focus begins for IMAZ with possible training races to include Leadman Bend and SOMA half.

You know me.... This could change and you're likely to see me at plenty of other great events this season.

All the best, CY

- TRI-U-MAH - One hundred and fifty-six athletes started the 10th annual Tri-U-Mah Indoor Triathlon on February 5. The race was won by Jim Guenter and Kris Ridler, who finished 1-2 overall. Highlights of Jim's 2013 outdoor season include taras-eyes.gifhis 7th at Waseca 1/3 and a 9th at Liberty Olympic. According to her Facebook page, Kris is into Chaska, Buffalo Wild Wings and saving lost dogs. RACE RESULTS

- ICEMAN EXTREME WINTER TRI - Participant numbers were down somewhat this year, thanks to the fact that it was 17-below at race time. Still, Grand Forks' Sean Cooley showed up and won his hometown race for the fourth consecutive year. 2013 runner-up Tara Kenny, who has beguiling eyes (photo), came out on top for the women this time around.
