Minnesota's pros turned in impressive efforts on Sunday. David Thompson (YndeCam photo L) finished 4th at the New York City Triathlon, and Devon Palmer (Yndecam photo R) was victorious at the silver anniversary edition of the Brewhouse Triathlon in Duluth. DKT had excelled in the Big Apple last year as well, finishing a very satisfying 2nd.
Thompson picked up his 69th career victory two weeks ago at Chisago Half. NYC RESULTS
Palmer covered Brewhouse's new, improved and more challenging course in 1:37:36, which delivered him to the finish line 1:02 ahead of amateur champ Jon Balabuck of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Determined not to be chased down by the fleet-flooted Canuck, Devon turned in one of the finest run splits of his career, a 29-flat for the five miler.
The triumph was career win #10 for the amiable, bushy-headed Palmer....

Graniteman- Big Lake - This great new race was won by local fave, Troy Anderson, and 2004 Minnesota Triathlete of the Year, Becky Youngberg. For Youngberg, it was her 5th victory of the year and 31st since the turn of the millennium. Only Cathy Yndestad (49) and Jan Guenther (35) have won more races during this period. Thanks to outrageous bike and run splits, Becky managed to finish 3rd overall, just eight seconds out of 2nd place .
April Morgan (photo L) collected her 2nd consecutive runner-up award. She also placed 2nd two weeks ago at Chisago Sprint. As you can see, April likes to sit in creeks.
