TRINONA PREVIEW - There are few races anywhere that are in the same league with Trinona. It is outstanding in every way. Venue/Courses, Swag. Atmosphere. Amenities. Memories. You name it, Trinona has it "in spades," which is an expression we have never really understood. What do spades have to do with having a lot of something?

We digress.

Trinona has always been a very competitive race and this year's fields are strong. So without further ado-do, let's make some predictions.

Podium-Bound Minnesotans...

A few days ago we peeked at the registration list for the inaugural IRONMAN 70.3 WISCONSIN in Madison. We almost wet ourselves. Though 2349 athletes are enrolled, we think there is an excellent chance that the women's podium will consist of two Minnesotans and a former Minnesotan who remains an honorary Land 'o 10,000 Laker....

Minnesotans Set to Rock in Pigland...

kris_tilt.pnglogo_pig.pngPIGMAN PREVIEW - For several reasons, Minnesota athletes continue to support the Pigman, Iowa's premier sprint triathlon. First, of course, is because it has been an awesome event for a quarter of a century.

Another, it was founded by John Snitko, arguably the best race timer in the business, who for decades has elevated many of our state's best races--Heart of the Lakes, Timberman, Apple etc.--with his state-of-the-art services.

Minnesota athletes have always excelled at Pigman, and several of them are returning for Sunday's race. Women's course-record holder HEATHER LENDWAY hopes to lower the amazing course record she set in 2014, and take home the Equalizer bonus in the process....
