After our profound performance of predictive prowess at the World Championship70.3 in Vegas last month, Ironman.com begged Jerry "The Scot" MacNeil and me to stage an encore for the Ford Ironman World Championship. They also begged us not to actually predict anything this time but just to preview the field. Must've been because of how we completely threw the sports book at Caesar's into a state of utter disarray.

Ironman World Championships - Thirteen Minnesotans have accepted their qualifying slots for the 33rd Hawaiian Ironman World Championships, Triathlon's Super Bowl, which will be staged this Saturday on The Big Island.
The five Minnesota woman who will race in Kona are:

Peregrine Charities Triathlon - The 4th annual PC Olympic and Sprint Triathlon will be staged in Waterloo, Iowa, this Sunday. A record turnout will be on hand and the fields will be deeper than ever. Several of Minnesota's best multisporters will be there and we predict an Olympic podium sweep for the Loon State visitors....

Race Previewy Stuff - The 6th annual Treadman Duathlon, which is expertly produced by Final Stretch, will be staged in the halcyon community of Pine Island on Saturday. Record attendance is expected and weather conditions are predicted to be hospitable. If you are a fence-straddler, let us recommend that you give this event a try. One Last Tri Preview - In 2010 the 5th edition of One Last Tri drew a record 230 participants. Sunday's race could field almost THREE TIMES that many folks.
No kidding.
Almost 550 triathletes have already enrolled and we'd be surprised the ranks didn't swell by another 100 bodies by gun time.
Why?
Because the word is finally out: One Last Tri is a totally cool event! It has a great venue and courses, a celebratory atmosphere and a comfortable, low-key vibe....
