Coaches Cindi Bannink (USA Triathlon 2011 Coach of Year) and Kris Swarthout (Four Time Team USA Triathlon Coach) have teamed up with Club Med Academies to deliver what is billed as ‘one of the most comprehensive triathlon camps you will ever attend.’
The Club Med Academy camp takes place in Sandpiper Bay, Florida, on 12-15 November 2015.
“I’m excited to be partnering with Club Med Academies and Kris Swarthout in this fall triathlon camp,” said coach Cindi Bannink.
“This camp will be a key learning opportunity for anyone wishing to take their training and racing to the next level. The timing of this camp is ideal as athletes will have all winter to refine and improve their skills and training before launching into the 2016 season.”...

On October 10th, professional triathlete and Inheritance of Hope supporter Ruth Brennan Morrey, Ph.D., will compete in the IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. She will swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, and run 26.2 miles. Only 35 women worldwide have qualified to compete in the professional category, and Ruth is one of just nine Americans. Due to her years of training, Ruth has a unique perspective on resilience, perseverance, and faith. She also turns 40 years old on race day!
Ruth served as a counselor on the Inheritance of Hope (IoH) NYC Legacy Retreat® in November 2014, and she is raising money for IoH as part of her desire to give back...

Minnesota Multisport Awards – Typically we post the official nominees for Triathlete of the Year after all the other nominees in other categories have been announced. This year, though, we are publishing the male TOY nominees early.
Why?
Because it was the second easiest category, after the Rookies, to figure out. Across the board, this year’s nominees are harder to determine than ever and the MMA Selectors have been arguing for weeks and still aren’t ready to announce the nominees in most categories.
As for the male TOY category, three candidates were no-brainers, but the fourth required much debate, and not every selector agrees with the final pick....

Why Runners Get Slower With Age...

Young runners are different than you and me. They have more speed. And to achieve that swiftness, they use certain leg muscles quite differently than runners past age 50 do, according to a new study of runners’ strides at different ages. The study also intimates that many of us might be able to reinvigorate our flagging pace with the right type of strength training.
Science, competitive records and lived experience all show that runners slow with advancing age, even the great ones. The current world marathon record for men, for instance, 2:02:57, was blazed by a 30-year-old, and is nearly an hour faster than the world record of 2:54:48 for the 70- to 75-year-old age group, which was set by Ed Whitlock, a Canadian. He later ran the world...
