Minnesota Multisport Awards - As with all the categories, it was extremely difficult to whittle the list of possible Junior of the Year candidates down to just four official nominees. Here they are, along with their 2012 highlights:

Hawaiian Ironman World Championships - Our sport's Super Bowl is Saturday and our butts will be resolutely planted on our swively office chairs like the tendrilly roots of a fig tree, which according to Wiki.Answers.com has the deepest roots of any tree.

October 15 is Opening Day for Apple Valley's new Blue Water Aquatic Center. In addition to hosting Rip Tide Swim Team and numerous youth and community swim groups, the facility will be offering Masters Swim practices beginning on the 16th.
Masters practice is offered Monday through Thursday 6 AM to 7:30 AM and Saturdays from 7:30 AM to 10 AM, for $25 per month. The program includes guided instruction, custom training plans and stroke technique feedback....

On September 29, 2010 Minnesota Triathlete of the Year Patrick Parish competed in his first F1 style triathlon. It was called the Super Frog Triathlon, obviously named after the beloved amphibious superhero, and we don't know the exact format. The experience was educational, and PP freely admits that he got totally smoked.
The next day, though, Parish did the Super Frog Half IM, his 70.3 debut, and this time he was the one who smoked the competition. Racing in the Elite Wave, Patrick finished 4th overall and was the first male finisher who didn't actually hold a pro license. You may have heard of the trio of ....

Minnesota Multisport Awards - It's official. The nominees for 2012 Female Triathlete of the Year are Claire Bootsma (2011 TOY), Ruth Brennan Morrey, Suzie Fox and Cathy Yndestad (TOY in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010). The athletes were selected based on their 2012 resumes, not their reputations. ...
